Coaches Corner

Information

As long as we have enough volunteers, every team should have a head (spiritual) coach and at least one assistant (sports) coach.

Crossroads Sports head (spiritual) coaching positions are reserved for active attendees and members of The Shepherd’s Church. This ensures that our coaches are spiritually aligned with the mission of our ministry as we serve families and share the hope of the gospel through Crossroads Sports.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we continue this outreach-focused ministry.

You do not need to have children in the program to serve as a coach.

After you register, you will receive a discount code for 25% off of the registration price for your kids!

– We are also renaming our coach positions head coaches are now spiritual coaches. This coach will focus mainly on the devotional aspects of the team and helping lead the kids in that manner.

– The assistant coach position will now be called sports coaches. This coach will focus mainly on teaching the kids the sport aspect of the team and leading them in this way. However, these coaches will still need to uphold our standards of a coach and lead the kids in a godly manner and follow our expectations and requirements of being a coach.

Coach with us!

Crossroads Sports is a ministry of The Shepherd’s Church.

We exist to offer a fun and safe place for kids to play sports, but also to demonstrate and share the truth of Christ to our players.

Our coaches are essential for this purpose! You don’t need to be a sports expert, we’ll help you with that.

All you need is a willingness to serve and to be a godly leader for the kids.

What does Coaching with Crossroads Look Like?

Practices are once per week, during a weeknight of your choice. When you register, you can tell us which night of the week you prefer, and we will do our best to structure the league schdule around all our coaches’ needs/preferences.

Each practice is 75 minutes long. Most of the time is spent coaching the sport, while about 15 minutes are set aside to teach a devotion about Christ. Don’t worry about writing the lesson yourself, we will give you all the materials.

Competition game days are on Saturday mornings. Your team will face off against another team in your age group! There will be seven game days.

All games and practices will be on our campus at The Shepherd’s Church.
